The Leap

The Leap
I wrapped my arms around
the strength of your body;
I trusted with each gaff
you would carry my weight;
And atop was your crown,
I feared to climb upon.
Would I be forsaken?
Trust my feet to take the final stair
as my body quivers with angst.
Do not be afraid;
stand still,
feel my peace.
Daring myself to trust;
my arms become wings of an eagle
And I leap in faith
Into the unknown;
Into life.
